Replacement motherboard with Core i5-8265U processor, dual-channel DDR4 support up to 16 GB and Intel UHD Graphics 620 for Dell Inspiron 15 5584
The Dell Inspiron 5584 motherboard integrates an Intel Core i5-8265U quad-core processor running at 1.6 GHz. It fits Dell Inspiron 15 5584 laptops and provides dual-channel DDR4 memory support up to 2400 MHz across two SODIMM slots. The board includes Intel UHD Graphics 620 and uses the Intel PCH-LP chipset.
This motherboard replaces a damaged or faulty original unit in an Inspiron 15 5584 chassis. The upgrade is worthwhile when the existing board no longer posts, suffers port failure, or exhibits chipset-level faults that prevent stable operation. It restores the original 8th Generation Intel Core platform without requiring a full laptop replacement.
The two SODIMM slots accept DDR4 modules up to a maximum configuration of 16 GB, capping total system memory at that level. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system memory and cannot drive high-refresh external displays or modern compute workloads. The PCH-LP chipset does not expose additional high-speed lanes beyond the factory configuration.

The board aligns with the original standoff pattern in the Inspiron 5584 shell; use the existing screw points to secure it.
Reattach the display cable, keyboard ribbon, battery connector, fan header and speaker wires; the fan header is the one most frequently overlooked.
The CMOS battery on the motherboard will eventually need replacement when the system loses time or BIOS settings after shutdown.
