Dell 2TB 7.2K RPM SAS Drive

This Dell 2TB 7.2K RPM 6Gb/s 3.5" SAS hard drive is built for Dell PowerEdge servers and MD arrays. It arrives as a brand new zero-hour unit with the manufacturer tray included. The drive carries Dell firmware for guaranteed compatibility across supported platforms. It suits administrators expanding near-line storage capacity in validated Dell environments.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This drive suits IT teams adding near-line SAS storage to compatible Dell PowerEdge servers or MD arrays using 3.5" bays. Buyers needing a different physical size, a higher spindle speed, or a non-SAS interface should look at other options. Systems that do not accept Dell firmware or 3.5" SAS drives cannot use this product.

Deciding specification: 6Gb/s SAS interface

The single specification that decides fitment is the 6Gb/s SAS interface combined with Dell firmware. Your server or array must support SAS connectivity and accept Dell-signed drives. Verify the controller and backplane match this interface before purchasing.
