Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The 240 watt rating defines the maximum continuous output available to the system under load. Fan speed scales with internal temperature so acoustics remain proportional to the power being drawn. In typical office workloads the unit runs within its thermal design without excessive noise. No efficiency certification or standby consumption figure is provided in the source data.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 240 W PSU in my OptiPlex 7010 SFF and which step is often missed?

Remove the side panel, unplug the old unit, slide the new PSU into the chassis until it clicks, then reconnect the 24-pin and 4-pin CPU cables; the step often missed is fully seating the latch so the supply locks in place.

What maintenance or replacement will this 240 W PSU need later?

Clean dust from the intake grill and fan periodically; replace the unit if voltages drift out of spec, the fan becomes noisy, or the system fails to start reliably.
