The DELL 540-BCXX is a low-profile PCIe 4.0 x8 network card built around the Intel E810 controller. It provides two SFP28 ports for 25 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in servers and workstations that need high-throughput wired links. The card supports RDMA, SR-IOV and VMDq for virtualised and storage-heavy workloads.

Sustained throughput with hardware offloads

On-chip QoS, traffic management and flexible port partitioning keep latency predictable when both ports run at line rate. RDMA over Converged Ethernet v2 and iWARP offload storage and compute traffic from the CPU, while DDIO places data directly in cache. These features maintain efficiency during long transfers rather than only in short bursts.

Low-profile bracket fits dense chassis

The plug-in card uses a low-profile bracket so it installs in 1U or blade systems where full-height cards cannot. Two SFP28 cages accept direct-attach copper or optical modules for rack or cross-rack links. PCIe 4.0 x8 electrical interface delivers up to 250 MB/s per direction between the adapter and the host.
