Genuine Dell 250 W unit for OptiPlex 790 and 990 DT

This original Dell 6Mvjh power supply delivers 250 watts for OptiPlex 790 and 990 desktop tower systems. It replaces a failed or noisy factory unit with the exact electrical and mechanical specification Dell engineered for these chassis. The part is new and carries the manufacturer part number 6Mvjh.

Direct swap using the original mounting points

Installation requires removing the side panel, unplugging the ATX and CPU power cables, and sliding the old supply out before fitting the replacement. The proprietary connector layout matches the motherboard exactly, so no adapters are needed. Builders using small-form-factor or mini-tower OptiPlex cases cannot use this unit because the physical dimensions and bracket differ.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 250W power supply is working after installing it in my OptiPlex 790?

The system should power on normally, the fan should spin, and the front power LED should stay solid without unexpected shutdowns under load.

What comes in the box with the 6Mvjh unit and what extra cables might I need for an OptiPlex 990 DT?

The unit ships as the power supply only; standard ATX cables are attached, so no extra cables are needed for a compatible OptiPlex 990 DT build.
