Dell Constellation ES 740YX 1TB SAS Drive

The Dell Constellation ES 740YX is a 3.5-inch internal hard drive with a 1000GB capacity. It spins at 7200RPM and uses a SAS 6Gb/s interface with a 64MB cache. This bare drive is built for enterprise workloads.

Suits servers and arrays needing SAS connectivity

This drive fits systems that accept 3.5-inch SAS drives running at 6Gb/s. It is not for buyers whose hardware only provides a different interface. Users needing a smaller form factor or a non-SAS connection should look elsewhere.

The SAS 6Gb/s interface decides compatibility

Your controller or backplane must support SAS at 6Gb/s for this drive to function. Without that specific interface the drive cannot be used, regardless of capacity or speed.
