Questions about this item

Does the 3.5" SAS drive include the Dell caddy required for a PowerEdge R720?

Yes, the listing states it comes with a compatible Dell caddy for the R720 and many other PowerEdge models.

What is the correct way to seat the 12 G SAS drive into the hot-swap bay so the connector engages fully?

Slide the caddy straight in until the latch clicks; the common error is stopping early and leaving the SAS connector partially mated.

When should the 7.2 K 8 TB drive be replaced in a RAID array?

Replace it if SMART reallocated sectors rise sharply, if the controller flags predictive failure, or after the manufacturer-rated workload limit is reached.
