8X25K Dell VRTX SAS Expander

This new Dell 8X25K is a SAS expander module designed for the VRTX server platform. It adds SAS connectivity to the chassis so that additional drives or enclosures can be addressed by the compute nodes. The unit ships tested with updated firmware. It fits the VRTX rack form factor and serves administrators who need more SAS lanes inside an existing VRTX deployment.

VRTX administrators adding SAS capacity

The expander suits IT teams that already operate a Dell VRTX system and require extra SAS ports for storage expansion. Buyers without a compatible VRTX chassis cannot install this module. Environments that rely on interfaces other than SAS will not be supported by this hardware.
