  • New condition delivers full manufacturer reliability

Capacity and Interface

This is a 900 GB internal hard drive with a SAS interface and a 2.5 inch form factor. It operates at a rotational speed of 10K RPM and is supplied in new condition. The unit is designed for desktop systems that accept 2.5 inch SAS drives.

Server and Workstation Upgrades

The drive suits administrators expanding storage in compatible Dell servers or workstations that require 10K SAS spindles. It is not intended for laptops or consumer desktops lacking a SAS backplane or controller. Buyers needing larger capacities or solid-state performance should consider alternative drives.

Packaging Variation

The product ships in either retail or OEM packaging depending on stock, but the drive specifications remain identical. No additional cables, brackets or software licences are included in the box. Installation relies on the host system's existing drive carriers and SAS connectors.

Questions about this item

What type of controller or backplane do I need to connect this 2.5" SAS drive?

You need a SAS controller or backplane that supports 6 Gb/s SAS and can accommodate a 2.5" form factor drive bay.

Can I use this 6 Gb/s SAS drive on an older 3 Gb/s SAS controller?

Yes, SAS is backward compatible, so this 6 Gb/s drive will operate at 3 Gb/s on an older controller.

How can I verify the drive is running at the correct speed after installation?

Check the negotiated link speed in your RAID controller BIOS or operating system utilities; it should report 6 Gb/s when connected to a compatible controller.
