Alienware 17 R3 UHD Bezel

This genuine Dell front cover replaces the plastic trim on a 17.3 inch Alienware 17 R3 laptop equipped with a UHD 4K AU Optronics panel. It restores the original fit and finish around the display area. Builders repairing a cracked or missing bezel will find the correct mounting points and latch alignment.

Part Number G97J4 Compatibility

The bezel carries Dell part number G97J4 and is validated only for Alienware 17 R3 models that shipped with a UHD 4K AU Optronics screen. Using it on a lower-resolution panel or a panel from a different manufacturer will result in misaligned screw holes and camera cut-outs. No other laptop series is supported.

Single-Model Fit Constraint

This trim piece fits exactly one screen configuration on one laptop generation; it cannot be adapted to other Alienware sizes or to Dell Precision and XPS chassis. Buyers who need a bezel for a Full HD panel, a touchscreen variant or a different 17 inch model must source the correct separate part number.

Questions about this item

Will the plastic bezel G97J4 need replacement if the clips break during a screen swap?

The bezel is a single plastic trim piece; if its mounting clips snap while removing or installing the 17.3" UHD panel, the whole front cover must be replaced.

What limits repeated removal and refitting of this front cover?

The plastic retention tabs that secure the bezel to the lid assembly fatigue after a few cycles, so the practical limit is how many times those tabs survive re-engagement.

Does the bezel affect heat or fan noise when the laptop runs all day?

The trim is a passive plastic part with no vents or electronics, so it adds no heat, draws no power and creates no noise during continuous operation.
