Replacement palmrest for damaged or worn units

Questions about this item

Will this palmrest assembly fit my older Alienware 17 laptop?

This assembly is listed as compatible only with the Alienware m17 model; the older Alienware 17 is a different chassis and is not referenced in the compatibility list.

How can I verify the touchpad is functioning correctly after I install the 718H6 module and CPFFC cable?

After installation, boot into Windows and open Settings > Devices > Touchpad; the cursor should move smoothly, taps register as clicks, and multi-finger gestures such as two-finger scroll work without lag.
