Genuine OEM lid cover for Alienware M5500i-R3

This genuine OEM replacement panel fits the Alienware M5500i-R3 notebook. The 15.4 inch LCD back cover restores the original chassis appearance. It is intended for owners repairing a damaged lid or refreshing the exterior. Buyers needing a different screen size or model compatibility should look elsewhere.

Passive part with no thermal or power impact

The cover is a passive structural component that generates no heat and draws no power. It adds no audible noise during normal laptop operation. Installation simply replaces the existing panel without affecting system thermals. Buyers seeking active cooling upgrades will not find that function here.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Alienware M5500i-R3 15.4" LCD lid back cover panel, and what step is often missed?

Remove the bezel and hinge covers, detach the old panel from the hinges and antenna cables, fit the new panel, then reconnect the antennas before reassembling; the step often missed is re-routing the wireless antenna cables through the new cover.

What maintenance or replacement will the Alienware M5500i-R3 15.4" LCD lid back cover panel need later?

The panel itself requires no scheduled maintenance; only replace it if it cracks or the hinge mounts break, and inspect hinge torque periodically to avoid stress on the new cover.
