Dell Antenna Lightning Arrestor with N Connectors

This Dell surge protector safeguards wireless equipment operating in the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz frequency range. It uses N-type connectors to link between an outdoor antenna and indoor radio hardware. The unit is designed to divert transient voltage spikes caused by lightning or static discharge. It suits network administrators deploying point-to-point or point-to-multipoint links.

Integration into RF chains and mounting constraints

The arrestor installs inline on the coaxial feed line, requiring N-type terminations on both antenna and radio sides. It needs a solid ground connection via its mounting bracket or dedicated lug to function correctly. The device handles the RF path without external power, freeing the installer from supplying DC voltage to the protector itself. It is not suited for frequency bands outside the stated 2.4 to 2.5 GHz window.

Questions about this item

At what frequency does the arrestor stop protecting 2.4 GHz gear?

The arrestor covers 2.4 to 2.5 GHz, so protection ends above 2.5 GHz.

Will the N connectors run hot during continuous outdoor use?

The unit is passive with no active cooling, so connector temperature follows ambient conditions.
