Dual-band MIMO antenna covers 2.4 and 5 GHz sectors with 5-6 dBi gain, 270° horizontal beamwidth, and three RPSMA connectors
The Dell AP-ANT-17 is a multi-polarised antenna built for sector coverage across the 2400-2500 MHz and 4900-5875 MHz bands. It delivers 6 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz and 5 dBi gain at 5 GHz with a 270-degree horizontal beamwidth. Designed by Aruba Networks, it suits indoor or outdoor deployments needing wide-area wireless reach.
The antenna terminates in three reverse-polarity SMA connectors, enabling direct attachment to compatible access points or radios. A 1.7:1 VSWR indicates a good impedance match across both bands. Its 7.9 by 1.3 by 7.9 inch form factor and 90-degree vertical beamwidth support pole or wall mounting for fixed sector installations.
This unit replaces omnidirectional dipoles when wider horizontal coverage and MIMO capability are required. The jump is worth it for networks that need consistent sector patterns and dual-band operation from a single radome. It is not suited for point-to-point links needing narrow beamwidths or for installations requiring integrated cabling.

The antenna operates on 2.4 GHz (2400-2500 MHz) and 5 GHz (4900-5875 MHz) bands, providing dual-band coverage for compatible access points.
The antenna measures 7.9 in wide, 7.9 in high, and 1.3 in deep, designed for indoor or outdoor sector mounting with a 270° horizontal beamwidth.
Connect all three RPSMA connectors to the corresponding MIMO radio ports; the common error is leaving one port unused or mismatching polarisation, which reduces diversity gain.
