Network adapter for Dell PowerEdge servers

The Dell Broadcom 57414 is a dual-port 25Gb SFP28 rNDC designed for Dell PowerEdge rack servers. It provides high-speed connectivity for R640, R740, R740XD, R7425, R840, R940 and R940XA systems.

Fits OCP 3.0 mezzanine slot

This card installs directly into the dedicated rNDC mezzanine slot on supported PowerEdge motherboards. It leaves standard PCIe slots free for other expansion cards such as RAID controllers or additional NICs.

Sustained 25 Gbps throughput per port

Each SFP28 port maintains line-rate 25 Gbps under continuous load. The dual-port design balances traffic across both links without thermal throttling during extended data transfers.

Questions about this item

At what throughput does the 57414 dual 25Gb SFP28 rNDC hit its ceiling under sustained traffic?

Each SFP28 port on the 57414 is rated for 25Gb, so the first limit under continuous load is the 25Gb line rate of a single port.

How much heat or fan noise does the 540-BBUS rNDC add when it runs all day in a PowerEdge R740?

The 540-BBUS rNDC is a passive mezzanine card; it draws power from the host server and adds no dedicated fan, so its thermal contribution is absorbed by the system's existing cooling.

Which Dell PowerEdge chassis and slot type must I already have to install the 57414 rNDC?

The 57414 rNDC fits the rNDC mezzanine slot in PowerEdge R640, R740, R740XD, R7425, R840, R940 or R940XA servers.
