Genuine Dell USB IO Board Cable

This genuine Dell OEM cable connects the USB and SD reader IO board to the motherboard in compatible 2-in-1 laptops. It carries Dell part number CHWGY and fits Inspiron 5368, Inspiron 5378, and Latitude 3390 2-in-1 models. The part is new and includes the cable only as shown.

Cable-only supply simplifies replacement

The package contains the single flex cable without additional brackets, screws, or adhesive strips. Installers must reuse existing fasteners and routing guides from the original assembly. No software, drivers, or firmware updates are required for this passive interconnect.

Proprietary flex limits interchange

The cable uses a model-specific pinout and length that prevent use in other Dell chassis or third-party boards. Builders needing a different routing path, connector pitch, or additional USB lanes cannot adapt this part. Damage during hinge-area flexing will require another exact-match replacement.

Questions about this item

How often does the CHWGY cable need to be replaced under normal use?

The CHWGY cable is a passive internal connector with no moving parts; it typically lasts the lifetime of the Inspiron 5368, 5378 or Latitude 3390 2-in-1 unless physically damaged during a repair.

What is the first limitation you hit when the cable runs continuously?

The cable carries USB and SD reader signals without active electronics, so sustained use is limited only by the motherboard and IO board specifications, not by the cable itself.

Does the CHWGY cable generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day operation?

No, the CHWGY cable is a simple ribbon assembly with no power draw, fans or active components, so it produces zero heat and no audible noise in the Inspiron 5368, 5378 or Latitude 3390 2-in-1.
