Dell CM318 146 GB SAS drive

The Dell CM318 is a 146 GB SAS hard drive spinning at 10K rpm with a 16 MB cache. It fits 2.5-inch bays and connects through a 3.0 Gbps SAS interface. This new drive suits servers or storage arrays needing fast, reliable access to moderate data sets. It is not for buyers who want larger capacities or solid-state speeds.

PowerEdge tray for hot-swap use

The drive ships mounted in a Dell PowerEdge tray that slides into compatible hot-swap bays. The tray secures the unit and aligns the SAS connector for tool-less installation and removal. This design supports quick replacement during maintenance without powering down the chassis. It is not for builders who need a bare drive for fixed mounting or non-Dell enclosures.
