Purpose-Built Storage Chassis

The Dell EMC DD860 Data Domain Storage System Metal Chassis (P-X-860-CHAS1) is a 2U rack-mountable metal enclosure engineered specifically for the DD860 platform. It provides the structural foundation for housing drives, processors and network interfaces within a standard server rack. This listing supplies the chassis only, without any internal components included.

Integration Fit

This chassis suits IT teams deploying or maintaining a Dell EMC DD860 deduplication appliance where the original enclosure has failed or a bare-metal refresh is planned. It is not for buyers who need a complete, populated storage system, nor for builders looking for a generic server case to populate with unrelated motherboards or drive configurations.

Build Context

The unit occupies 2U of rack space and requires standard rack rails and power infrastructure compatible with the DD860 architecture. It frees up procurement budget by allowing component reuse from an existing DD860 deployment while replacing only the physical frame. Compatibility is limited strictly to the DD860 platform.
