A 1 TB 3.5-inch SAS drive spinning at 7200 RPM with a 12 Gb/s transfer rate and hot-swap tray for nearline storage
The Dell DGNTV is a 1TB 3.5-inch internal hard drive built for nearline workloads. It spins at 7200 RPM and connects through a 12Gb/s SAS interface. The unit is supplied new in retail or OEM packaging. A hot-swap tray allows removal without powering down the chassis.
This drive fits servers and storage arrays that need cost-effective bulk capacity on a 12Gb/s SAS backplane. The nearline rating targets workloads with moderate duty cycles rather than constant heavy writes. Systems limited to lower SAS speeds or different form factors cannot use this drive.
The drive requires a controller or backplane that supports 12Gb/s SAS signalling to operate at its rated transfer rate. Compatibility with the host bus adapter and the hot-swap bay dimensions must be verified before installation. No other interface or speed is supported by this model.
