Half-Height Mini-PCIe WiFi Card for Dell Desktops

This Dell DW1530 card adds dual-band wireless networking to compatible OptiPlex 7010 and 9010 systems. It fits a half-height Mini-PCI Express slot and supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standards on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. The card delivers data rates up to 300 Mbps for everyday office and home connectivity.

Included Card and Installation Guide

The package supplies the DW1530 WiFi card and an installation guide when applicable. No antennas, cables, brackets or driver media are included in the box. You will need to reuse or source the appropriate antenna assembly for your specific chassis to complete the wireless link.

Verify Slot Type and Antenna Wiring Before Ordering

Confirm your desktop has a free half-height Mini-PCIe slot and the necessary internal antenna cables routed to that location. Some small form factor Dell chassis use a different connector or lack the auxiliary antenna leads required for full dual-band operation. Buyers needing Bluetooth, newer Wi-Fi standards or a full-height bracket cannot use this card.

Questions about this item

Will the half-height Mini-PCIe antenna cables need replacing over time?

The card itself has no moving parts; only the external antenna cables or connectors might wear if they are repeatedly disconnected.

What limits sustained throughput on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands?

The IEEE 802.11n link caps at 300 Mbps, so extended transfers will plateau at that rate.

How much heat does the DW1530 add inside a small OptiPlex chassis all day?

The half-height Mini-PCIe form factor draws minimal power, adding negligible heat to the system.
