Dell e7450 business laptop with Core i7-5600U

This Dell e7450 business laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and ready to run. It uses an Intel Core i7-5600U processor at 2.6 GHz with 12 GB of DDR3 memory. The 14.0 inch display shows 1920 x 1080 resolution and storage is provided by a 128 GB SSD. There is no optical drive and the chassis is black.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Buyers needing a portable Windows 10 machine for office applications, web browsing and video playback will find the specification adequate. The 12 GB of memory helps with multitasking across browser tabs and documents. Users who require more storage capacity for large media libraries or local databases should consider other options. Gamers or engineers needing discrete graphics performance will not be served by the integrated Intel HD graphics.

The specification that decides fit

The 128 GB SSD is the single figure that determines whether this laptop fits your workload. If the operating system, applications and active files fit comfortably within that space, the system will boot quickly and feel responsive. If you expect to keep large photo, video or project folders locally, the capacity will become a bottleneck and you will need external storage or a different machine.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 12GB DDR3 version or a smaller capacity for everyday office work?

The 12GB DDR3 configuration handles multitasking across browser tabs, documents and video calls without swapping to the 128GB SSD.

What does the Core i7-5600U 2.6GHz rating deliver when the laptop is running on battery?

The dual-core processor sustains 2.6GHz on light loads and boosts higher in short bursts, so office apps stay responsive while the 14.0" screen draws modest power.

Does the 1920x1080 panel use a standard display interface that limits external monitor resolution?

The built-in 1920 x 1080 screen runs at native resolution; external output depends on the laptop's video port, which is not detailed in the specifications.
