Adds two Gigabit RJ45 ports over a PCI-Express x4 slot with driver support for Windows 32 and 64-bit, Linux 32 and 64-bit, VMware, MS-DOS and Oracle Solaris
The Dell F169G is a full-profile PCI Express network card that adds two RJ45 ports to a server or workstation. It supports 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps links and is compatible with Windows, Linux, VMware, MS-DOS and Oracle Solaris drivers. The card targets administrators who need redundant copper connections on a single x4 slot.
On-chip temperature monitoring and checksum offload for TCP, IP and UDP reduce host CPU utilisation during continuous traffic. I/O virtualisation support for VMware NetQueue and Microsoft VMQ keeps multiple virtual machines from contending for the same queue. Wake On LAN remains active so remote power-on works even after extended idle periods.
The card requires a physical x4 PCI Express slot; it will not fit in an x1 slot without a riser or open-ended bracket. Buyers whose chassis only provide x1 or proprietary slots cannot use this adapter. No other interface or form factor is supported by this part number.
