16x DVD RW DL SATA Drive

This genuine Dell GH40L optical drive writes and reads DVDs at 16x and CDs at 126x with a maximum transfer rate of 22 MB/sec. It connects via a standard SATA interface and fits tower or desktop chassis with a black bezel. LightScribe labelling and double-layer recording are supported.

Suitable for legacy optical media tasks

Builders adding disc-based backup, software installation or LightScribe labelling to a SATA-equipped desktop will find this drive fits the requirement. Systems without an internal SATA port or a 5.25-inch bay cannot use this unit. Users needing Blu-ray playback or USB external operation should consider other solutions.

16x DVD write speed

The 16x DVD write speed and 126x CD write speed define the drive's throughput for burning data discs or creating LightScribe labels. Double-layer media support extends single-disc capacity. Buffer underrun protection helps prevent failed burns during high-speed recording.
