Quad-port server adapter

The Dell H092P Pro 1000 VT adds four Gigabit Ethernet ports to a server through a single PCI Express slot. It is built for administrators who need extra wired links for virtualisation, storage traffic or redundant uplinks.

Twisted-pair cabling constraint

Each port runs at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps over standard twisted-pair copper. The 1000Base-T mode requires Category 5e or better cable and is limited to 100 metres per segment. Bandwidth above one gigabit per second per port is not supported by this card.

Replaces single or dual-port NICs

This adapter consolidates up to four older single-port or dual-port Gigabit cards into one low-profile bracket. The upgrade makes sense when a server has free PCI Express slots but needs more network connections than the current adapters provide.
