Four-port Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express card adds 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 connections to a PC
This Dell HM9JY card adds four RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports through a single PCI Express slot. It suits servers or workstations that need extra wired links for virtualisation, storage traffic or network segmentation.
The board uses a standard plug-in form factor and connects to Cat5e or better twisted-pair cabling. Each port auto-negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps so existing copper runs work without rewiring.
Verify the host has a free PCI Express slot and that the operating system includes or can load drivers for the Intel Pro/1000 controller. Systems without an available slot or compatible driver stack cannot use this card.

Each port negotiates 10, 100 or 1000 Mb/s over twisted pair; the PCI-Express host bus provides enough bandwidth for all four to run at 1000 simultaneously.
The card fits a standard PCI-Express slot and uses a full-height bracket with four RJ-45 cut-outs.
Power off the PC, insert the card firmly until the bracket screw holes line up, secure the screw, then attach all four Ethernet cables — the step often missed is fastening the bracket screw before cabling.
