For owners repairing a cracked or discoloured lid

The part suits anyone replacing a damaged original cover on this specific model. It will not fit other Dell series or screen sizes, so buyers with a different chassis should look elsewhere. No tools or adhesive are included in the package.

Questions about this item

How do I fit the 14.1" LCD back cover onto my Inspiron 1420, and which step often goes wrong?

Remove the bezel, disconnect the two antenna cables from the wireless card, unscrew the old hinges, then attach the new hinges and route the cables through the hinge wells before snapping the cover shut — the step most people miss is feeding the antenna wires through the wells so they do not get pinched.

What maintenance or replacement will the NP905 back cover need later?

The plastic cover itself needs no scheduled upkeep; the integrated hinges and antenna cables are the wear items — if a hinge stiffens or a cable frays, replace the whole lid assembly again.
