Dell Inspiron 15 i5-1235U laptop

This new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro and a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U processor reaching 4.4 GHz turbo frequency. It includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD for fast storage. The 15.6 inch touchscreen displays 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 Hz.

Suited for office and study tasks

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics and 60 Hz panel suit general productivity, web browsing and video playback. Buyers who need discrete graphics for gaming, rendering or GPU compute should look elsewhere. The single USB 2.0 port and HDMI output limit peripheral connectivity for users with multiple external devices.

2TB PCIe NVMe SSD capacity

The 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD provides the primary storage volume and determines how much data the system can hold internally. There is no hard drive bay or second M.2 slot mentioned for expansion. Verify that this capacity meets your workload before purchase.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The 16 GB DDR4 SODIMM occupies the single memory slot, so any increase means replacing it with a higher-capacity DDR4 module.

What limits performance first when the i5-1235U runs at 4.4 GHz for long periods?

The 15 W base power and 41 WHr battery mean the CPU throttles to stay within thermal and power limits.

How loud and hot does the laptop get during an all-day workload?

The 65 W adapter and 41 WHr battery keep fan noise moderate; surface temperatures rise around the keyboard deck but stay within normal operating range.
