Genuine Dell LCD back cover for Inspiron 17.3"

This is a genuine Dell OEM replacement lid assembly in black with an etched design. It fits the Inspiron 17 series models 3721, 3737, 5721 and 5737. The part arrives new and matches Dell part number FHK8V.

Passive component with no thermal or power

The back cover is a structural plastic and metal assembly that generates no heat and draws no power. It adds no audible noise to the laptop during normal operation. Installation simply restores the original chassis integrity.

Includes wireless antenna cables but excludes hinges

The package supplies the back cover top and the integrated wireless antenna cables. Hinges are not included and must be reused from the original unit or sourced separately. This lets you replace a damaged lid while retaining the existing hinge mechanism.

Questions about this item

How do I fit the 17.3" LCD back cover FHK8V to my Inspiron 5737, and which step do people get wrong?

Remove the screen bezel, disconnect the wireless antenna cables from the old lid, transfer the hinges to the new cover, then reconnect the antennas; the step most often missed is routing the antenna cables through the hinge channels before tightening the screws.

What maintenance or replacement will the 17.3" LCD back cover FHK8V need later?

The cover itself needs no scheduled maintenance; only the wireless antenna cables inside may fatigue after repeated opening, so replace them if signal drops or cables fray.

What limit appears first on the 17.3" LCD back cover FHK8V under sustained daily opening and closing?

The integrated wireless antenna cables are the first parts to wear; repeated flexing at the hinge points can degrade signal integrity before the plastic cover shows stress.
