Dell Inspiron Palmrest Assembly

This genuine Dell palmrest touchpad assembly is a direct replacement part for Inspiron 14 series laptops. It restores the integrated pointing surface and power button function on compatible machines. The unit arrives new in black finish matching the original chassis colour.

Build Fit And Integration

The assembly includes the touchpad module, mouse buttons and the power button board each with their own ribbon cables for connection to the mainboard. It fits precisely into the existing palmrest aperture without requiring case modifications or additional brackets. Installers simply disconnect the old ribbons and seat the new cables into the same connectors.

Who This Suits

Technicians repairing a cracked or unresponsive palmrest on an Inspiron 14 3421 or 14R 5421 will find the correct layout and cable routing here. Buyers needing a palmrest for any other Dell model or a different screen size should look elsewhere because the mounting points and ribbon lengths are model specific.

Questions about this item

Will the ribbon cables on this D24V3 palmrest wear out first if the laptop is used continuously?

The assembly includes touchpad and mouse-button ribbon cables plus a power-button board ribbon; under sustained use those flex cables are the first components likely to show fatigue.

Does the palmrest area get hot or noisy during all-day operation?

This is a passive plastic chassis part with no fan or electronics that generate heat or noise; it simply conducts whatever temperature the laptop produces.

Which Dell laptops must I already own for this D24V3 assembly to fit?

It is guaranteed compatible only with the Inspiron 14 (3421) and Inspiron 14R (5421) models.
