Ready for work and study

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6-inch touchscreen laptop built for everyday productivity. An 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1155G7 processor works with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Home runs on the 1920 x 1080 120Hz anti-glare display. The Carbon Black chassis measures 14.11 x 9.27 x 0.83 inches and weighs 3.65 lbs.

Steady performance on long tasks

The 4-core, 4-thread CPU reaches a 4.10 GHz turbo frequency for short bursts but settles at lower clocks during extended workloads. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics shares system memory and handles office apps, web browsing and video playback without a discrete GPU. The 120Hz panel refreshes smoothly when scrolling documents or streaming video.

Thermals, noise and power draw

A 65-watt 3-cell lithium-ion battery powers the system under normal use. Fan noise stays modest during typical office tasks and rises only when the processor sustains higher loads. Surface temperatures remain comfortable for lap use while the anti-glare coating reduces eye strain in bright rooms.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 15.6-inch 120Hz touchscreen model get during all-day use with the i5-1155G7?

The 65-watt power adapter and 3-cell battery indicate typical ultrabook thermal output; fan noise rises under sustained load but stays at office-acceptable levels.

Which cables or peripherals must I already own to connect an external monitor via the HDMI 1.4 port?

You need a standard HDMI cable; the port supports up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, so no special high-bandwidth cable is required.

Can I keep using my older USB 2.0 flash drives and SD cards with the USB 2.0 port and SD slot on this 3520?

Yes, the single USB 2.0 port and full-size SD card reader are backward compatible with legacy flash drives and memory cards.
