Purpose-built laptop

The Dell Inspiron 3520 15 targets professionals and students who need a reliable Windows 11 Pro machine for daily productivity. Its 10-core Intel Core i7-1255U processor and 16GB DDR4 memory handle multitasking across office applications and browser tabs. The 512GB PCIe SSD provides fast boot times and ample space for documents and media files.

Thermals and acoustics

The slim 0.82-inch chassis weighs 3.65 lbs and relies on passive cooling surfaces alongside a single fan to manage the 12th Gen U-series chip. Under typical office loads the system remains quiet, with fan noise only becoming audible during sustained multi-core workloads. Power draw stays modest thanks to the efficient 15-watt base design and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics.

Display specification

The 15.6-inch Full HD panel runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, WVA technology and anti-glare coating at 250 nits brightness. This combination suits users who value smoother scrolling and reduced motion blur for spreadsheet work or video playback. Buyers who need higher colour accuracy for creative editing or a touchscreen interface should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 16GB DDR4 memory and which step do people get wrong?

The 16GB DDR4 memory is already installed; there is no user-accessible slot, so the common mistake is trying to open the chassis to add more.

What maintenance will the 512GB SSD need later?

The 512GB SSD has no moving parts and requires no scheduled maintenance; only keep Windows 11 Pro updated and avoid filling the drive completely.

What limit appears first on the Intel Core i7-1255U during sustained loads?

The 10-core processor will hit its thermal ceiling and reduce clocks from the 4.7 GHz boost toward the 3.5 GHz base before any other component bottlenecks.
