Core i7 10-core laptop for everyday work

The Dell Inspiron 3520 15 combines a 10-core Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro and includes an Office 2021 licence. The 15.6-inch FHD display delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution for clear text and video.

Sustained load on integrated graphics

Under continuous demand the 10-core CPU operates between its 1.2 GHz base and 4.7 GHz turbo frequencies while sharing system memory with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The 12 MB L3 cache helps keep data close during multi-threaded tasks such as compiling code or editing large spreadsheets.

Thermals and power in daily use

The chassis measures 14.11 x 9.27 x 0.83 inches and weighs 3.65 pounds, allowing a slim profile for portable use. Fan noise remains moderate during typical office workloads, and the integrated graphics architecture keeps power draw lower than discrete alternatives.

Questions about this item

How loud does the Inspiron 3520 get when the Core i7-1255U runs at 4.7 GHz all day?

The 10-core processor has a 1.2 GHz base clock and 4.7 GHz turbo; fan speed scales with load, so sustained heavy work will spin the fans higher than light tasks.

Which cables or peripherals must I already have to use the HDMI 1.4 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports on this laptop?

You need an HDMI 1.4 cable for external displays and standard USB-A cables or devices for the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and the single USB 2.0 port.

Can I keep using my older USB 2.0 flash drives and SD cards with the Inspiron 3520?

Yes, the laptop includes one USB 2.0 Type-A port and a multi-format SD card reader that both work with legacy drives and cards.
