Purpose-built 15.6-inch workstation

The Dell Inspiron 3520 15 laptop pairs a 10-core Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and an Office 2024 licence for immediate productivity. Buyers who need discrete graphics or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Thermals and power profile

Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics keep the thermal load modest during typical office tasks and media playback. The 1.2 GHz base frequency scales up to 4.7 GHz turbo when workloads demand it. Fan noise stays low for everyday use. No discrete GPU means lower sustained power draw.

Connectivity and included software

Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 2.0 Type-A port and an HDMI 1.4 output cover common peripherals and external displays. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth handle wireless links. The multi-format SD card reader aids quick file transfers. Windows 11 Pro and Office 2024 are pre-activated.

Questions about this item

How do I add more storage to the 512GB PCIe SSD, and which screw do people forget?

The laptop uses an M.2 slot for the 512GB PCIe SSD; the step most people miss is removing the single captive screw that secures the drive before sliding it in at an angle.

What part of the 16GB DDR4 memory will need replacement first?

The 16GB DDR4 is soldered to the board and cannot be replaced; only the 512GB PCIe SSD is removable for future upgrades.

At what turbo frequency does the Core i7-1255U hit its thermal limit during long workloads?

The processor can reach 4.7 GHz max turbo frequency, but sustained loads will throttle below that once the cooling system saturates.
