Dell Inspiron 3520 15.6" 120 Hz Laptop

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6 inch laptop with a 120 Hz Full HD IPS display, an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit and includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, an integrated webcam and an HDMI port. The chassis weighs 3.6 lb and measures 14.11 x 9.27 x 0.74 in.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits office workers, students and home users who want a responsive 120 Hz screen for everyday productivity, video calls and light multitasking on Windows 11 Pro. It is not for buyers who need a discrete GPU for 3D rendering or gaming, nor for anyone who requires USB-C video output or more than one USB 2.0 port.

The spec that decides fit

The single specification that decides fit is the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics paired with a 120 Hz 1080p panel; it delivers smooth desktop motion and video playback but cannot drive modern games at playable frame rates.

Questions about this item

How smooth does the 120 Hz panel actually feel when I am scrolling or dragging windows?

The 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display refreshes at 120 Hz, so motion such as scrolling documents or moving windows appears noticeably smoother than on a standard panel.

What external displays can I drive from the HDMI port on this laptop?

The HDMI output supports external monitors or TVs; the maximum resolution and refresh rate will depend on the display you connect and the Intel Iris Xe graphics capabilities.

Will the 3520 fit in a typical 15 inch laptop sleeve or backpack compartment?

The chassis measures 14.11 in wide, 9.27 in deep and .74 in high, and weighs 3.6 lb, so it fits most sleeves and compartments designed for 15.6 inch laptops.
