Ready for home and office work

The Dell Inspiron 3520 pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed. This configuration suits students, remote workers and small-business users who need responsive everyday performance.

Touchscreen and essential ports

A 15.6-inch Full HD WVA touchscreen runs at 60Hz for direct interaction with documents and media. Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI output, an SDXC card reader, one USB 2.0 port and a headset jack. A 720p webcam and standard keyboard complete the daily toolkit.

Step up from basic 8GB or HDD models

Moving from 8GB memory and a hard drive to 16GB DDR4 and a 1TB NVMe SSD cuts boot times and keeps multiple apps smooth. The jump is worth it when multitasking, large spreadsheets or light creative work exceed the limits of entry-level configurations.

Questions about this item

What PCIe standard does the 1 TB SSD use, and what throughput ceiling does that impose?

The 1 TB drive is a PCIe NVMe SSD, so its practical ceiling is the PCIe generation supported by the 11th Gen Core i5-1135G7 platform.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and weight for bag or sleeve fit?

The laptop measures 14 IN x 9 IN x 1 IN and weighs 4 lb, so a 15.6 inch sleeve with at least those internal clearances will fit.

How is the DDR4 memory installed, and which slot-count mistake do buyers make?

The 16 GB ships as a single 8 GB DDR4 SO-DIMM in one of two slots; the common error is buying a second 16 GB stick instead of an 8 GB match.
