Dell Inspiron 3520 for daily work

This 15.6 inch laptop pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe SSD. The 120Hz Full HD IPS panel makes scrolling and video smoother. Windows 11 Home is installed and ready for home or office tasks.

Thermals and power in normal use

A 65W power supply charges the 3-cell 41 WHr battery while the integrated Iris Xe graphics keep heat output modest during typical productivity loads. Fan noise stays low when browsing or editing documents. The carbon black chassis weighs 3.6lb.

Ports and upgrades that matter

One USB 2.0 port, HDMI output, an SD card reader and a headset jack handle everyday peripherals. The 2230 form-factor SSD slot limits future storage expansion. No optical drive is fitted. An integrated webcam and Bluetooth 5.0 support video calls.

Questions about this item

How is the 2230 PCIe SSD installed and what step do people get wrong?

The 2230 PCIe SSD fits the short M.2 slot; the common mistake is buying a 2280 drive that is physically too long for this chassis.

What maintenance or replacement will the 41 WHr battery need later?

The 3-cell 41 WHr battery is internal; when runtime drops you must open the base cover and swap the pack for a compatible Dell unit.

What limit appears first on the i5-1135G7 during sustained loads?

The 65 W power adapter caps combined CPU and GPU draw, so the 4.2 GHz turbo cannot be held once the total package power hits that ceiling.
