Inspiron 3520 for everyday work

The Inspiron 3520 pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 8GB DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the 128GB PCIe SSD while a 1TB HDD provides bulk storage. The 15.6-inch IPS panel runs at 1920x1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Dual storage and 120Hz display

The PCIe NVMe SSD accelerates boot and application launch compared with a hard drive alone. The 1TB HDD adds capacity for large media libraries without extra cost. A 120Hz refresh rate smooths scrolling and video playback on the Full HD screen. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handle standard office and streaming tasks.

Check memory slots and port needs

The system ships with 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM installed; verify whether a free slot exists before planning a memory upgrade. Only one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI output and an SD card reader are listed, so confirm they cover your peripherals. The 41 WHr battery and 65W adapter set runtime expectations for mobile use.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB DDR4 memory need upgrading for heavier multitasking?

The laptop ships with 8 GB DDR4 SODIMM; adding a second module or replacing both is the only way to increase capacity.

Which component hits its thermal ceiling first during long sessions?

The Intel Core i5-1135G7 integrated Iris Xe graphics shares the CPU cooler, so sustained GPU loads raise core temperatures before the 65 W adapter becomes a limit.

How loud and hot does the 3-cell 41 WHr battery system get under all-day use?

The 65 W power supply and 41 WHr battery keep the chassis warm but fan noise stays moderate; surface temperatures rise noticeably after several hours of continuous load.
