Dell Inspiron 3530 touchscreen laptop

The Dell Inspiron 3530 is a 15.6 inch Full HD touchscreen notebook powered by a 13th Generation Intel Core i7-1355U processor with 10 cores and 12 threads. It comes equipped with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVME solid-state drive. The system runs Windows 11 Home and includes Intel Iris Xe graphics for everyday visual tasks.

Sustained workload behaviour

The processor operates at a 1.70GHz base frequency and can reach up to 5.00GHz maximum turbo frequency with 12MB of L3 cache. Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory rather than using dedicated video memory. The 45W power supply and 3-cell battery support typical business applications, while the 60Hz display refresh rate suits standard office workflows.

Build and daily connectivity

The chassis measures 14.15 inches wide by 9.25 inches deep by 0.90 inches high and weighs 3.5 pounds in black finish. Ports include two USB 3.2 Gen1, one USB 2.0, one HDMI output and an SD card reader. A 720p HD webcam, Bluetooth 5.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi handle communications, while a headphone and microphone combo jack covers audio needs.

Questions about this item

How much fan noise and heat does the i7-1355U produce when the 3530 runs all day?

The 10-core i7-1355U operates at a 1.70 GHz base with a 5.0 GHz boost inside a 3.5 lb chassis cooled by a 45 W power supply; typical office workloads keep the fans at a low, steady hum and the surface warm but not hot.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, the single USB 2.0 port and the HDMI output?

You need USB-A cables or hubs for the three Type-A ports and an HDMI cable for external displays; the built-in SD card reader, 720p webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 require no extra accessories.

Will the Intel Iris Xe graphics and 60 Hz FHD panel work smoothly with a ten-year-old 1080p monitor I want to keep?

The HDMI port drives a 1920 x 1080 60 Hz signal that matches the older monitor’s native timing, while Iris Xe handles desktop composition and light media without driver conflicts on Windows 11 Home.
