Dell Inspiron 3780 Optical Drive Ribbon Cable

This genuine Dell OEM ribbon cable connects the optical drive interposer to the motherboard inside the Inspiron 17 (3780) laptop. It is supplied new with part number K9RV0 and matches the component shown in the product images. The cable restores the data link required for the internal optical drive to function correctly.

Verify laptop model and cable routing before

Confirm that the service tag or chassis label reads Inspiron 17 (3780) because this cable is specific to that model. Check the existing ribbon for damage, pin alignment or connector wear on both the interposer board and the motherboard header. Ensure the replacement cable length and fold pattern match the original routing inside the chassis.

Suits owners replacing a faulty ODD cable

This part is for users who have diagnosed a failed optical drive connection on the exact model listed. It is not suitable for other Inspiron 17 generations, different Dell series or any non-Dell notebook. Buyers needing a complete optical drive assembly, a different interconnect type or a cable for another chassis should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the cable ship with any mounting brackets or screws?

The listing shows only the ribbon cable itself; brackets and screws are not included.

Is K9RV0 the only part number that fits the Inspiron 17 3780 optical drive?

Yes, K9RV0 is the Dell OEM part number for this model; the alternative codes EDI73_ODD_BOARD_FFC and NBX0002IR00 refer to the same cable.

Will this ribbon cable restore optical drive detection after a motherboard swap on an Inspiron 3780?

It reconnects the optical drive interposer to the motherboard, so a correct fit re-establishes the signal path for drive detection.
