Inspiron 7640 16-inch touch laptop

The Inspiron 7640 is a 16.0-inch Windows 11 Home laptop with a blue chassis and a touchscreen display. It runs on an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor with 16 cores and a 5.1 GHz turbo frequency. Integrated graphics handle the visual output on the 1920 x 1200 FHD+ panel. The system includes 32GB of memory and a 960GB SSD.

Integrated graphics and wireless connectivity

The processor integrates the graphics chip, so no separate card is required and the internal layout stays compact. Wireless access comes through 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for peripherals. A built-in webcam and touchpad cover video calls and navigation without extra accessories. The 32GB memory and 960GB SSD are soldered or installed, leaving no user-accessible slots for expansion.

Suited for touch-first productivity.

Buyers who want a large touchscreen for drawing, annotation or media consumption in a single portable unit will fit this profile. Users who need discrete graphics performance for rendering, gaming or GPU-accelerated compute should look at systems with a dedicated video card. Anyone requiring storage expansion beyond the fixed 960GB or memory upgrades beyond 32GB will need a different chassis.

Questions about this item

How long can the Core Ultra 9 185H sustain its 5.1 GHz turbo across all 16 cores before thermal throttling?

The 16-core Core Ultra 9 185H reaches 5.1 GHz on turbo boost, but sustained all-core speeds will settle lower once the cooling system saturates under prolonged load.

What are the fan noise and surface temperatures like during an all-day workload on the 16-inch chassis?

Under continuous load the fans spin up audibly and the keyboard deck grows warm, typical for a thin 16.0-inch design with integrated graphics sharing the same thermal budget.

Which peripherals or docks are required to drive external displays from the integrated graphics?

The integrated graphics output video through the laptop's built-in ports, so any compatible monitor or USB-C dock with DisplayPort Alt Mode will work without an extra GPU.
