Questions about this item

Will the 15.4" LCD back cover 2U158 fit my Inspiron 8500 without extra brackets?

This cover is made for Inspiron 8500 and 8600 models and includes the left and right hinges plus the hook latch, so it mounts directly to the existing hinge points.

What is the tricky step when replacing the LCD back cover on an Inspiron 8600?

Route the antenna and inverter cables through the hinge channels before snapping the hook latch shut, otherwise the cables get pinched and the lid will not close fully.
