Refurbished Latitude 5420 business laptop

This Dell Latitude 5420 is a refurbished business laptop graded in excellent cosmetic condition. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB NVMe drive. The 14-inch touchscreen supports full HD resolution for daily office tasks.

Sustained workload behaviour

The quad-core Tiger Lake chip includes 12 MB of L3 cache to help maintain throughput during extended sessions. Integrated Iris Xe graphics rely on shared system memory rather than dedicated video RAM. Thunderbolt 4 ports provide high-bandwidth connectivity for docks or external storage during long work periods.

Deciding specification: 8 GB soldered memory

The 8 GB capacity is fixed and cannot be upgraded later. Buyers who need more memory for virtual machines or large datasets should choose a different system. This configuration suits single-application workflows and standard productivity software.

Questions about this item

How loud and warm does the Core i7-1165G7 get when the 5420 runs all day?

The quad-core Tiger Lake chip has a 12 MB L3 cache and Iris Xe graphics that share system memory, so sustained workloads stay within the thin-and-light thermal envelope of the 0.82" chassis.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the two Thunderbolt 4 ports and HDMI 2.0 output?

You need Thunderbolt 4-certified cables or docks for the dual ports and an HDMI 2.0 cable for external displays; the laptop supplies power and video over those interfaces.

Will my older USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A devices work with the two ports on this Latitude 5420?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports are backward compatible with earlier USB-A peripherals, so existing mice, keyboards and drives connect without adapters.
