Refurbished Latitude 7490 for mobile professionals

This refurbished Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0-inch business laptop with a touchscreen display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor at 1.90 GHz with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed. The anti-glare FHD panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution. Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visuals using shared system memory. It suits professionals who need a portable, touch-enabled device for office applications and travel. Buyers needing dedicated graphics performance or a larger screen should look elsewhere.

Grade A refurbishment

The unit has been refurbished by a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher to Grade A standard. This process includes full hardware testing, a clean installation of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, and a genuine licence. The Grade A rating means the chassis shows minimal cosmetic wear. No extra software bundles or recovery media are mentioned in the supplier data. The refurbishment replaces the original factory warranty with the refurbisher's own cover. Users expecting a sealed retail box or additional accessories will not find them here.

Simple setup with standard business laptop

First boot walks through the standard Windows 10 Pro out-of-box experience, so the laptop is ready for domain join or local account creation. Drivers for the touchscreen, Intel UHD 620 graphics and precision touchpad are already present. The sealed unibody aluminium chassis means memory and storage are not user-upgradable. The shared video memory architecture limits graphics-intensive tasks. Common issues involve battery wear on refurbished units and the fixed 16 GB memory ceiling for heavy multitasking.

Questions about this item

Will the 512 GB SSD need replacement before the 16 GB memory?

The 512 GB SSD is a solid-state drive with no moving parts, so it typically outlasts mechanical drives; the 16 GB memory is soldered and not user-replaceable, meaning neither component is designed for routine swap-outs.

What stops the Intel Core i7-8650U from holding its 1.90 GHz base speed during long renders?

The quad-core i7-8650U shares its cooling with the Intel UHD Graphics 620, so sustained heavy workloads raise chassis temperature until the firmware throttles both CPU and GPU clocks to protect the hardware.

How loud and hot does the 14.0 inch touchscreen chassis get when Windows 10 Pro runs all day?

Under typical office loads the fan stays near idle and the aluminum palm-rest remains warm but comfortable; prolonged multi-core tasks spin the fan audibly and push keyboard-deck temperature higher, though the 1920 x 1080 anti-glare panel itself adds negligible heat.
