Genuine Dell Fingerprint Reader Ribbon Cable

This genuine Dell OEM ribbon cable connects the fingerprint reader module inside the Latitude 13 7370. It carries part number FCXTN and is supplied new. The component restores the biometric login function when the original flex cable is damaged or missing. Buyers needing a different laptop part or a complete reader module will not find it here.

Direct Replacement Flex Cable Restores Biometric

Installing this cable re-establishes the electrical link between the fingerprint sensor and the mainboard. No additional software or drivers are included because the part is a passive interconnect. The repair suits technicians or owners comfortable with disassembling the ultrabook chassis. Anyone expecting a plug-and-play external security device should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How often does the FCXTN ribbon cable need replacement under normal use?

The FCXTN cable is a passive flex circuit with no moving parts; it only needs replacement if the fingerprint reader stops being detected after a drop or hinge stress.

What fails first on the FCXTN cable when the laptop hinge is opened and closed repeatedly?

The copper traces inside the flex ribbon fatigue at the fold point near the hinge, causing intermittent fingerprint reader connection before the connector itself wears.
