Questions about this item

How do I install the WFT0T palmrest assembly on my Latitude 3189, and which step do people often miss?

Remove the bottom case, disconnect the battery, then detach the keyboard and old palmrest cables. The step often missed is reconnecting the R2KM5 touchpad ribbon cable fully before screwing the new assembly down.

What maintenance or replacement will the R2KM5 touchpad module need later?

The touchpad surface may wear or the sensor may fail after heavy use. If cursor response degrades, the R2KM5 module can be swapped independently without replacing the entire palmrest assembly again.
