Genuine Dell OEM replacement cable

This is a genuine Dell OEM ribbon cable for the Latitude 3450 status LED light board. It connects the indicator board to the main system for power and status signalling. The part is compatible only with the Latitude 3450 model. Buyers repairing other Dell laptops or needing a different internal cable cannot use this part.

Passive component with no power draw

The ribbon cable is a passive flexible circuit that carries low-voltage signals only. It generates no heat and produces no audible noise during operation. Installation requires opening the laptop chassis to route the cable between the LED board and motherboard. No external power supply or software configuration is involved.

Questions about this item

How is the ribbon cable routed inside the Latitude 3450 to reach the status LED board?

The cable threads through the hinge channel and plugs into the LED board connector; the step most people miss is seating the ZIF latch fully before reassembling the palm rest.

Will the connector or cable need replacement again after the hinge has been opened and closed many times?

Repeated flexing at the hinge can fatigue the conductors, so if the status LEDs start flickering the cable should be swapped rather than reseated.
