Genuine Dell Latitude 3460 3470 Base Cover

This genuine Dell OEM bottom base cover assembly carries part number MVC3V and fits Latitude 3460 and 3470 laptops. It replaces a damaged or missing chassis base to restore structural integrity and port alignment. Buyers receive the base bottom cover only, with no additional brackets or screws included.

Verify Exact Model Before Ordering

Confirm the laptop is a Latitude 3460 or 3470 by checking the service tag or model label on the existing chassis. This assembly is not compatible with other Latitude series or Dell Precision models. Inspect the current base for broken mounting posts or stripped screw holes that could affect installation of the replacement part.

Direct Replacement for Cracked or Warped Chassis

The part upgrades from a fractured, warped or missing original base that causes flex, misaligned ports or exposed internals. The jump is worth it when the existing cover no longer secures the motherboard or battery bay. It is not for users seeking a lighter chassis, additional drive bays or a different colour finish.

Questions about this item

Does the MVC3V base cover assembly ship with any screws or internal brackets, or must those be sourced separately?

The listing states that the package includes only the base bottom cover itself, so any mounting screws, brackets or other hardware will need to be obtained separately.

My Latitude 3460 and a colleague's 3470 both need a replacement base — is the MVC3V the correct single part for both models?

Yes, Dell part number MVC3V is listed as compatible with both the Latitude 3460 and the Latitude 3470, so one assembly fits either laptop.

Once the MVC3V cover is fitted, does it restore the original chassis rigidity and port alignment on a Latitude 3470?

As a genuine Dell OEM base bottom cover, the MVC3V matches the factory specifications for the 3470, returning the chassis to its original structural integrity and port positioning.
