Dell Latitude 5420 business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5420 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built for professionals who need reliable daily performance. It runs on an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor with 16GB of memory and a 500GB HDD. The non-touch FHD display shows 1920 x 1080 resolution. No operating system is included.

Setup and common issues

As a complete laptop, it requires no internal assembly — just add an operating system and power on. The main setup step is installing Windows or Linux onto the 500GB hard drive. A frequent issue is forgetting that no OS ships with the unit, leaving the machine unbootable until installation media is prepared.

Practical limits of the hardware

Integrated Intel Iris graphics handle office apps and video playback but cannot run modern 3D titles. The mechanical 500GB drive is slower than solid-state storage, so boot times and application launches will feel sluggish by current standards. The 16GB memory ceiling suits typical multitasking but leaves no room for expansion.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 1920 x 1080 FHD panel is performing correctly after first boot?

Open a high-resolution image or video and verify sharp text, uniform brightness across the 14.0 inch LED display, and no dead pixels; the integrated Intel Iris graphics will drive the native resolution automatically.

What accessories are included in the box and which essentials must I purchase separately?

The laptop ships with the 14 inch Titan Grey chassis, 16GB memory, 500GB HDD, backlit keyboard, and webcam; you must buy an operating system licence and any external optical drive or docking station you need.

Which configuration should I choose if I need maximum storage capacity for local files?

This specific 5420 unit comes with a 500GB hard drive and no SSD; if you require more internal space you would need to replace the drive yourself after purchase.
