Business-class 14-inch laptop

The Dell Latitude 5420 is a 14.0-inch business laptop built for professionals and students who need dependable daily performance. It ships new with an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor, 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel is non-touch and delivers clear visuals for office work and video calls. Integrated graphics handle standard productivity and multimedia tasks.

Ready-to-use productivity platform

The system arrives fully assembled with memory and storage installed, so no internal upgrades are required to start working. A backlit keyboard supports low-light typing and the integrated webcam enables conferencing without extra peripherals. Because no operating system is included, the buyer chooses and installs their preferred OS. Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics drive the display without a discrete card.

Suits OS-flexible buyers.

This configuration suits users who want a clean software slate and reliable business hardware for productivity, browsing and remote sessions. Buyers who need a touchscreen, dedicated graphics for heavy rendering or gaming, or a pre-installed Windows licence should consider other models. The fixed 16GB memory and 512GB capacity also limit future expansion for memory-intensive workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the Core i7-1185G7 throttle under heavy multitasking?

The 11th Gen Core i7-1185G7 with 16GB DDR4 and 512GB NVMe SSD sustains productivity workloads; thermal limits engage only during prolonged maximum turbo across all four cores.

How loud and hot does the chassis get during an all-day video-conference load?

Integrated Iris Xe graphics and the anti-glare 14.0 inch 1920 x 1080 panel keep heat modest; the fan stays at low RPM for typical office use, rising only under sustained heavy compute.

Which operating system licence must I supply before the laptop will boot?

The unit ships with no operating system installed; you provide a Windows 10/11 or Linux licence and installation media to complete setup.
