Built for field work

The Dell Latitude 5424 Rugged is a 14-inch laptop with an outdoor-readable FHD touchscreen, Intel Core i5-8350U processor, 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe drive. It runs Windows 10 Pro and includes a sealed, backlit keyboard, IR camera with privacy shutter and a 51Whr battery. The chassis meets rugged standards for vibration, dust and moisture resistance.

Replaces fragile ultraportables

If your current ultraportable fails after drops, rain or extreme temperatures, this machine survives those conditions while keeping full x86 compatibility. The jump is worth it when downtime from broken screens or water ingress costs more than the extra weight. It does not suit buyers who need a lightweight consumer notebook for office-only use.

Check power and peripherals first

Verify that your 90W AC adapter uses the same barrel connector and that any vehicle dock supplies the required voltage. Confirm that your serial, HDMI and USB 3.1 Type-A cables match the port layout. Ensure your IT image supports Windows 10 Pro and the Intel UHD 620 graphics driver before deployment.
